Important High School Placement Test (HSPT) Information

All Catholic High School applicants are required to take the HSPT, which is used at St. Bernard to assess the student and assist with course placement. Results are not used explicitly as a condition of acceptance therefore, no test preparation is necessary.

St. Bernard High School is hosting your student for the HSPT (High School Placement Test) on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

If you have already created an application for admission, your $80 application fee covers your students HSPT. No need to make any other payments or complete any additional paperwork. If you have not applied yet, but wish to take the HSPT with us, payment is due upon arrival on testing day.

Credit Card and Apple Pay payments will be accepted on-site.

*If you do not wish to apply to our school, but would like to test (only) with us, please contact our admissions office:

  2. Please come up the front stairs to enter the building. Check-in will take place in the foyer.
  3. All testing materials, including pencils and scratch paper, will be provided in the classroom.
  4. Please leave calculators at home, as they are not allowed on the test. Students will also be asked to turn their phones off.
  5. A brief break will occur roughly halfway through the test. Water will be provided, but no other snacks. This is an attempt to be mindful of some students' food allergies. Please provide a snack for your child.

  7. A good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast are encouraged.

**We will be hosting parents for a Coffee with Leadership informative discussion at 8:30 am, inside a separate conference room. You are encouraged to stay and ask any questions you may have after dropping off your student!

If you have any questions, please send them to Erin Thompkins, Admissions Director (310) 823-4651 (Ext.122) ([email protected]).
