HSPT (High School Placement Test) Official Exam
All Catholic High School applicants are required to take the HSPT, which is used at St. Bernard to assist us with course placement and customize academic support. Results are not used as a metric for entry, therefore, no test preparation is necessary.
St. Bernard College Preparatory High School is hosting the HSPT (High School Placement Test) on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
*If you have already placed an application for admission, your $80 application fee covers your students HSPT registration. No need to make any other payment or complete any additional paperwork.
**If you wish to take the HSPT with us, but have not applied or do not wish to apply, please contact our Admissions office at 310-823-4651 (ext. 122 - or ask our receptionist to be transferred to the Admissions office) - An $80 payment will be due in advance of our testing day.
Click HERE to pre-register and indicate that your student plans on taking the HSPT with us on Saturday, Jan. 24, whether you have already applied for admission or not. This provides us with an accurate count so we can plan accordingly.
Below is important information for the test:
- Please plan to arrive at 8:00 am for check-in. The exam will start promptly at 8:30 am.
- Please come up the front stairs to enter the building. Check-in will take place in the foyer.
- All testing materials, including pencils and scratch paper, will be provided in the classroom.
- Please leave calculators at home, as they are not allowed on the test. Students will also be asked to turn their phones off.
- A brief break will occur roughly halfway through the test. Water will be provided, but no other snacks. This is an attempt to be mindful of some students' food allergies. Please provide a snack for your child.
- The test will conclude at 11:30 a.m. and ALL students must be picked up at this time. You can pick your students up at the front entrance stairs (the same location where you dropped them off).
- A good night’s rest and a healthy breakfast are encouraged.
