How to Apply
Step 1: The St. Bernard College Preparatory application for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on October 1st, 2025. Please note, our application includes a $80 (non-refundable) application fee.
The Winter Application Deadline is Monday, Feb 2, 2026.

*You will be asked to create a login profile, which allows you to save your progress and return to the application over time.
*You do not need to email or print out any of the required documents below.
*Please upload all of the required documents that are listed under the checklist.
*You must upload official or unofficial transcripts directly to your application portal (w/ current school logo & address). Our admissions department does not request student transcripts on your behalf.
*For teacher recommendations, simply enter the appropriate teacher/counselor email address and our recommendation form will be emailed to them. There are no other action steps required in order to retrieve the recommendation, once the email has been sent.
For Prospective 9th grade students:

1) Academic Records *Include 7th & 8th grade Report cards -or- Official (Full) Transcript w/ current in-progress classes from current High School (w/ school logo & address).*Please upload all transcripts directly to your application portal, after you receive them from your students school. SBCP is no longer able to request student transcripts on your behalf.
2) HSPT Test Scores
*St. Bernard will offer the HSPT test on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
3) Parent Personal Statement (Your chance to brag about your student!)

8) Recommendation Letters (3) *You may begin requesting recommendations from your Principal -or- Counselor, Math and English teachers.
*To request-Add the appropriate email(s) to your online application. Our system automatically emails a short-recommendation form to the appropriate party, using the email address you entered. You do not have to obtain free-style written recommendation letters.

*If your student needs to remediate any courses, we ask that you only use online course programs that have been approved and suggested by our academic counselors. Please note that St. Bernard College Prep must approve any coursework taken at another academic institution for completion of curricular progress.
**Our entire application is digital, including the letters of recommendation. Please make sure you have the correct email address for your child's teachers/counsellors. Within our application, simply enter the appropriate email address' and our system emails a specific recommendation form to complete.
Step 2: HSPT Official Exam - Saturday, January 24, 2026 (*Incoming Freshmen students ONLY)
*If you apply to SBHS, the $80 application fee also covers the HSPT Official Exam on Saturday, January 24, 2026. If you're interested in taking the HSPT at SBHS and do not submit an admissions application, the HSPT registration fee is $80.
*Students who submit an admissions application are given priority consideration for merit-based scholarships.
Step 3: Admissions Interviews- February, 4th/5th, 2026.
You will be allowed to select a date and time that works for you through a sign-up link.
Your student will receive the sign-up link once your application is complete (Letters of Recommendation, Most Current Transcripts, Immunization Records, Birth Certificates, and HSPT results).
Step 4: Admissions Decision
You will be notified of our admissions decision on Friday, March 6, 2026 electronically and by mail.
Step 5: Viking Registration Day! (*Date T.B.D.)
Congratulations! You're now a member of the Viking family! Your family will be introduced to our faculty and staff, select your courses for the school year, sign up for mandatory Summer School Bridge Program, and answer any questions you may have.
